Resources to Start Your Own Morning Time

August 6, 2025 by GrowingConfident Leave a Comment

If Morning Time is a new concept for you on your Homeschooling Journey, then below are some resources I would suggest you look into. If you want to begin this habit with your family, I would advise doing your own research to see what would interest your family. Also start simple. Maybe just sing a song, read a devotional or poem, pray, and call it done for the day. Remember as your children grow accustomed to your Morning Time you can always add more learning to this fun together time. This practice has evolved over the years for our family as kids have gotten older and more children added to our family. Curious what our family does then check out my post A Peek at Our Family’s Morning Time.

Books to Read

  • Family Driven Faith: Doing What It Takes to Raise Sons and Daughters Who walk with God by Voddie Baucham. While this book doesn’t necessarily discuss Morning Time, Mr. Baucham does advocate for Homeschooling your children. As well as having a set time daily where you read the Scriptures, Pray, and Worship the Lord together as a family. This is a wonderful book that I suggest every Christian Family read if they want to raise their Children up in a Christian Worldview and follow Christ.
  • Better Together: Strengthen Your Family, Simplify Your Homeschool, and Savor the Subjects that Matter Most by Pam Barnhill. This book does a great job explaining the benefits of Morning Time and having time in your day where you learn as a family.
  • Gather: Exploring the Wonder, Wisdom, and Worship of Learning at Home By Pam Barnhill. This book takes you into other families Morning Times and shows you how unique it is family to family.
  • Mere Motherhood: Morning Times, Nursery Rhymes, & My Journey Toward Sanctification by Cindy Rollins. Mere Motherhood takes you on the journey of Cindy raising her children and the important role Morning Time played.
  • Morning Time: A Liturgy of Love by Cindy Rollins. This manual walks you through how to make the practice of Morning Time your own.
  • Beyond Mere Motherhood: Moms Are People Too by Cindy Rollins. Speaks directly to Mothers about how we need to not only invest in our children’s love of learning but ours as well.
