Our Family’s Favorite Nature Study Books

August 13, 2025 by GrowingConfident Leave a Comment

This year we are trying to tackle the 1000 Hours Outside Challenge created by Ginny Yurich. Over the past year our Family has lived in an apartment with no backyard or playground nearby, so we had to be intentional with our outside time. Thankfully we will soon be moving to a 6-acre homestead so Nature Study and Time Outside will come much easier. Below are a list of our Family’s Favorite Nature Study Books that work whether you live in town or the country.

Backpack Explorer: On the Nature Trail: What Will You Find? by Editors of Storey Publishing.

1000 Hours Outside: Activities to Match Screen Time with Green Time by Ginny Yurich.

I Love Dirt! : 52 Activities to Help You and Your Kids Discover the Wonders of Nature by Jennifer Ward.

Wild and Free Nature: 25 Outdoor Adventures for Kids to Explore, Discover, and Awaken Their Curiosity by Ainsley Arment.
