Gift Ideas for Big Families

October 29, 2025 by GrowingConfident Leave a Comment

“Have yourself a merry little Christmas, Let your heart be light.” With the Holidays just two months away I wanted to share some ways Family and Friends can give thoughtful gifts to Big Families without going broke! Below if a list of Gift Ideas for Big Families that everyone in the Family with enjoy.

Four gifts wrapped in craft paper with pine needles, pines cones, and red ornament balls stacked around.

Food Gift Cards

You cannot go wrong with a Food Gift Card. Since Big Families may not typically go out to eat this will make a fun treat for the whole family. Some ideas could be for a Local Donut Shop, Chick-Fil-A, Pizza, Bakery, Ice Cream, etc.

Family Passes to a Local Attraction

Taking a Big Family on an outing can get pricey quick. Sometimes purchasing a Family Pass is much more economical. Even if you can’t budget the whole amount for a Family Pass to a Local Attraction just contributing some funds to a place you know the Family will enjoy will be very much appreciated.

Check pricing for Family Passes at the Zoo, Safari Park, Aquarium, Children’s Museum, or even a Pool Pass for the Summer to name a few suggestions.

Holiday OR Family Favorite Snacks

Who doesn’t love snacks?! We have a Grandparent that sends us fun Holiday Snacks every Christmas. Our Kids LOVE it as these are not things we would normally add to our grocery list. Some things we have received are Assorted Cookies, Chocolate Sampler, Dried Fruit Sampler, Sausage, Cheese, and Cracker Platter, Popcorn Tins, Variety Pack Snacks, Juice Boxes, Hot Chocolate, etc.

Outside Toys

Big Families are always in need of Outside Toys. Here are some items you can’t go wrong with… Bubbles, Chalk, Soccer Goal + Ball, Bug OR Nature Kits, Tree Swing, Walkie- Talkies, Microscope OR Telescope.

Craft Kits OR Group Toys

Legos, Lincoln Logs, Wooden Blocks, MagnaBlocks, Mondo Llama Craft Kits from Target, Doodle Water Mat, Board Games. All these items are GREAT because they can be done together and encourage sharing!

Movie + Popcorn

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
The Grinch OR Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Frosty the Snowman
VeggieTales It’s a Meaningful Life OR Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas
TV Show Series you think the Family will enjoy.

Chapter Books to Read Aloud

Gift a Book or Book Series that a Big Family can read together. A few our Kids really like are The Growly Series, Badger Hills Farm, The Boxcar Children, OR Little Pilgrim’s Big Journey Series. For additional Read Aloud Book Ideas for Little Boys, Young Girls, OR Ages 10 and Younger click the links in the mentioned Blog Posts.

Coupon Book

If you are looking for a more handmade gift, then you CANNOT go wrong with making a personalized Coupon Book for a Big Family. You may have no idea how much of a blessing this could be to Mom, Dad, or the Whole Family.

Some suggestions could be Free Babysitting for a certain number of hours. Cook a Meal. Vacuum + Mop Main Living Spaces. Carpool a Kid to an Extracurricular. Drop off Coffee, Chocolate, Flowers, Baked Goods, etc. just for Mom. Help Dad with a Project that needs to get done.
