Getting to Know Amelia… 34 Things About Me

Having just celebrated my 34th birthday, I wanted to share 34 things about me. Hopefully this will give you a little glimpse into my life. Enjoy!

About Me… The Growing Up Years

1. I have three brothers. One older and two younger.
2. I went to the same private Christian school from Preschool until I graduated in 12th grade.
3. I loved attending Vacation Bible School during the summer growing up.
4. I had braces as a kid, but my bottom teeth are still crooked.
5. I played volleyball in Middle and High School.
6. I was on the Student Council in 9th grade.
7. I acted in a few school plays in high school.
8. I worked at a movie theater as a teenager. Yes, I got to watch movies for free!
9. I served with the North American Mission Board in Northern California twice during college.
10. I went to college right out of high school and then again at 26.
11. I did not finish college, either time.

About Me… Random Things

1. My Starbucks order during the summer is an Espresso Frappuccino with numerous extra shots of espresso… depending on the size.
2. My Starbucks order during the winter is a Peppermint Mocha with numerous extra shots of espresso… depending on the size.
3. I enjoy reading nonfiction and fiction books about the Amish.
4. I can never have too many planners, notebooks, pencils, or office supplies!
5. Fall is my favorite season, but I actually wear sweaters year-round.
6. I like doing laundry. My husband washes, and I fold.
7. I was a Librarian for 5 years before getting married and having kids. I worked my way up from shelving books to running the Children’s Department.
8. Before having kids, I took a pottery class for a few months. I had fun but wasn’t very good.
9. I got my first tattoo at 27.
10. I have lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
11. I don’t wear makeup, because it feels weird on my face. Moisturizer and lip balm are my go-to.
12. I have great eyesight but have always wanted glasses.

About… My Family

1. I met my husband when I was 19.
2. My husband is over 6 feet tall, and I am barley 5’2”.
3. I have always wanted a big family.
4. We have had 5 successful home births.
5. Yes, I do know where babies come from. People ALWAYS ask us this question.
6. My husband and I have a passion to one day foster or adopt children.
7. Two of my sons are named after boot brands because my husband is a boot enthusiast.
8. My kids enjoying yelling, “Is it up time yet?!” in the mornings. Makes waking up… fun?
9. We have a cat that my 6-year-old daughter named Cupcake Rainbow.
10. If we have another baby and it is a boy, we owe our daughter a bunny.
11. Our family’s favorite music video is Micah Tyler’s Praise the Lord.
