What My Kids Want to do this Summer

May 28, 2025 by GrowingConfident Leave a Comment

Hello again summer! Last year I created a list of Kid Friendly Activities for Summer that I did with my children. This year I decided to ask my older kids (ages 8, 6, and 5) what are some things they want to do this summer. I am hoping to do one fun thing daily over the months of June, July, and August. Here is the list they, and my husband, came up with. 🙂

Four various types of small plastic dinosaurs standing beside a pool.
  • Use the Microscope to look at the Moon + Stars
  • Have a backyard bonfire and roast marshmallows. Then eat S’mores!
  • Play at a Splash Pad OR Pool
  • Prepare + Send a Care Package OR Card to Someone
  • Have a Craft Day
  • Stay in PJs + Have a Movie Day
  • Build a Fort + Sleep in the Livingroom
  • Make Homemade Ice Cream… Ice Cream was brought up numerous time 🙂
  • Get Slushes from Sonic
  • Feed the Ducks + Play at the PlayGround
  • Go to the Zoo Atlanta
  • Participate in The Good and The Beautiful Summer Reading Program OR the Local Library’s Summer Reading Program
  • Have a Cousin Day
  • Go to a Braves Baseball Game… Sam’s request!
  • Visit the Georgia Aquarium
  • Play at a Park
  • Visit the Local Family Fun Amusement Center
  • Grow Lady Bugs
  • Go Camping
  • Have a Family Water Balloon Fight
  • Help Out the Local Animal Shelter
  • Have a Girls’ Day with GMama… this is what the kids call my Mom. Olivia and I have a handful of Girls’ Days with her throughout the year with NO BOYS ALLOWED!
  • Do Puzzles
  • The Good and The Beautiful 101 Summer Bucket List Activities… I added this to the kids’ list for some additional ideas. We will try to accomplish a few of these things as well.

What is your family doing for fun this summer?
